So it’s been a minute since we blogged. I had so many things I wanted to talk to you about, share with you and encourage you with, but somehow putting the words on to paper felt impossible. I am glad I didn’t though. I think it’s time for a new season and a new perspective.
I am not sure if you have heard about the current trend of deciding on a word for the year as a opposed to resolutions. If you haven’t, I would encourage you to check out Kristi Uncorked’s Blog and read all about it. So to me, this is a much freer way to live out your goals, your dreams and aspirations.
For years, I attended a church that encouraged us to hear from God. Especially in the new year, ask him for a word. My words have varied over the years, but they have all played out beautifully. My word last year was to FLOURISH. Hence, the name of the last blog. If you look up the definition of the word, it suggests to grow where you are planted.
WOW! If you know my story, we moved here two and a half years ago. The transition was difficult for me. I missed everything about Oklahoma. But this word gave me vision to grow right here in Columbia. To stay put, to move forward, to grow and not stay stuck in the past.
Can I tell you a little secret? It was hard. It felt like a desert at times. There were nights I cried simply because I missed my life back home, but I was determined to stay put, to grow and even flourish. And so I did. Our little business grew. Our family grew. Our marriage grew. Thank God!
But this year’s word is REPLENISH. I strongly feel that God will refill, re-water and replenish all the areas in my life that felt like a dry wasteland. I am SO excited for this season. I am even more excited to share with you how our projects replenish others and our deepest thoughts on replenishing our own souls in 2018.
See you soon! XoXo,
